COME HOME TO YOURSELF

  • Would you like to find a way to have joy, peace of mind, happiness, and personal empowerment consistently in your life?

  • Did you know that all of our feelings and actions are fueled by our beliefs?
Julia Roberts was interviewed on the Today Show last week, about the opening of her new movie. During the interview she was asked if she had experienced sexual harassment in her workplace, as have many others who have come forward recently to report it.  She said she had not experienced that, at least in an overt way. (She said there may have been things she didn’t notice because of her naiveté at the time.)
As I thought about this, my conclusion was that sexual predators usually have an idea who won’t speak up. They pick their victims by whether they will challenge them or report them to someone. Women who might speak out are left alone. This is how they have gotten away with so much for so long.
I was a silent one when being sexually abused by my father, because I blamed myself and was afraid of the repercussions if my mother found out I was doing “sexual” things.
I hope the recent telling of the truth by the victims will be a message to others who are being abused or have been in the past to speak up claim their lives back. It took a lot of courage for me to “tell,” and it was worth it.
I have a favorite quote from Women Who Run With the Wolves, by Clarissa Pincola Estes:
“A woman’s issues of soul cannot be treated by carving her into a more acceptable form as defined by an unconscious culture. That is what has already caused millions of women who began as strong and natural powers to become outsiders in their own culture. The goal must be the retrieval and succor of women’s beauteous and natural psychic form.”

You Have All of the Answers (For You)

How many times have others told you they have all your answers? We’ve heard it from our parents, our religious organizations, radio, TV, and big billboards going down the highway. “If you buy this pill, you will sleep better.” “If you chew this gum, the girls will flock to you.”  “If you use this face cream, the guys will flock to you.”  And on and on about cars, detergents, anti-depressants, even toilet tissue.

I have discovered I have all of my answers inside myself – I am way smarter than I was led to believe.

There is a wonderful, gentle process called Life Options Dialogues I have found to be the best way to access my answers, so I can live a happier, more peaceful, joyful life.

Often we are unaware of the beliefs we have that are creating our fear, anxiety, anger, stress, or depression. Because we are unaware of our beliefs, we often respond with what appear to be automatic reactions. These reactions are often self-defeating and can even make matters worse.

My coaching/counseling sessions include Choice Making Dialogues which use loving, nonjudgmental questions to help you explore your inner landscape. The benefit of this is that we can change our feelings and behaviors, even if the people and situations in our lives don't change.

Testimonial

I recommend Jackie McCullough as the best counselor I have ever had!
I have had many therapists in my life, and in-fact, I am one myself in Texas. I
can say she has been 100% supportive of my growth. I had the greatest depressive
episode of my life on year ago. I started to work with Jackie on Skype and we
dialogued every day for three weeks.   She was totally present and loving but also held the line for me with strength and love. When she would ask me how I
felt, most often, I would go into my head and then be unable to connect to what feeling I was having. Over and over and over she would say, “yes, but how do you feel?”
Her dedication and skill level was rock solid.  I was so separated from myself, I had no idea what I was experiencing.  I worked with her all year and got my life back.    This last January, I can proudly say, I attend the Mentor Certification program at the Option Institute and was
certified myself. I continue to do dialogues with Jackie 2 days a week and am making great progress, on my way to re-starting my therapy practice using the
“tool from heaven” to help my clients.

What people are saying about Kathy Said, You're Not Lost to Me

“This is a gem of a book. It speaks of real life drama, of personal anguish and then grateful healing and recovery. It is one more testament to the courage of the individual, the message of the Twelve-Step Program, and the wisdom of a committed therapist. The section on the interaction of the therapist and the patient is particularly well done. I highly recommend it.”

—Jack McIntyre, Past President, American Psychiatric Association

“This book is clear, concise, insightful and real. An impossible journey well traveled.”

—Dr. E.A. Sears, President, Workplace Communications

“Concisely and powerfully written, Kathy Said, You’re Not Lost to Me is an emotionally moving and genuine account of one remarkable woman’s journey through pain and healing. Poignant and truthfully inspired, this book is a real gift.”

—Laurie Woodford, Professor and Travel Writer

“This book is a demonstration of the phenomenal strength and healing ability of the human spirit. This story must be shared.”

—Jill Fortune, Retired Social Worker and Author of  Dreams Like Blue Morning Glories
